PAPER WEIGHTS!
Wow...sure let this project sit! But here are the shells of the paperwights. I have left openings so i can fill them. I was going to do bb's or bullets or some other disgruntled employee type thing, but now i'm thinking to fill them with beans. For the corporate bean-counters! Hmmm.. but bullets are good too... maybe i will do something different in each one. ?? Check back to see the progress!

Work In Progress: PAPER TRAIL 6/30 YARN DONE!
Here it is! Turned out super cute and you can still read lots of the shreds. I decided to slip-stitch crochet a lump for the paperweight. chrochet will expose more of the shreds whereas knitting tends to tuck too much detil inside the stitch. Check back to see the progress!

Work In Progress: PAPER TRAIL 6/29 UPDATE
Spinning up pretty good. Alot of the shreds don't get cuaght in the fiber, but enough do to still make a really shaggy papery yarn. This batt is not going to be a big yarn...time to think of the paperweight and what shape it should be. I'm thinkin either just a lump/dome shape like a traditional weight or maybe a teardrop that will kind of lump itself on the desk. like a tear dropped but didn't splat...it just kind of sits there. If i do the dome shape i will crochet, but i think the tear would look better knit so you don't get too distracted by the stitch.

OO! OO! Look at this batt!! This turned out way more "pretty" than i thought it would. It's all fluffy and sparkley...it's like...a shredded paper angel cloud. Oh yeah- a corporate HEAVEN.

Work In Progress: PAPER TRAIL 6/27 UPDATE
OK.....So i tried to spin just the paper with some tiny copper wire and it didn't work AT ALL! the paper just fell out and the wire twisted and broke. It definatly needs some fiber to bind it. I am going to card the paper shreds into a batt with HEMP and sparkle. Hemp...of course.....used to make excellent paper and other products in the old days.. and for many reasons will be a funny and appropriate for a CEO paperweight.

This is a bunch of shredded office documents, newspapers and McDonalds lunch bags! I am going to spin a yarn out of them and crochet it into a paper weight filled with BB's. This will be a great item for any CEO's desktop!
